Description

The most common wild violet of woodland edges, grassland and shady hedge banks. Differentiated from other violets by having pointed sepals and only slightly downy leaves.

Flowers

Flowers are blue-violet, with 2 lateral petals bearded. The petals usually overlap with a stout, curved, pale spur, notched at the tip. Sepals pointed.

Cordate heart-shaped. Heart-shaped, indented, pointed at the tip.
