Full name Veronica anagalis-aquatica. Colonizes in wet places such as streams and irrigation ditches.

Flowers

Pale blue flowers with violet lines, borne in long slender racemes.

Leaves

Lanceolate leaf is lance-shaped: long and widest in the middle. Basal leaves: stalked, long, pointed, opposite on the stem, scarcely serrated, light green. Upper leaves: clasping the stem. No space between basal and upper leaves.

Fruits Seeds

Capsule: round-elliptical.

Edible

Leaves and stalks: must be heated through to kill harmful pathogens.
