A delicate-looking plant. The stems are erect and angular, loosely branched. Grows along paths and byeways, amongst other vegetation and can be easily overlooked.

Lanceolate leaf is lance-shaped: long and widest in the middle. Long, pointed, lobed or serrated, opposite on the stem, 6 cm, sparse.
