Description

Teucrium polium is a soft, hairy plant that has a pleasant smell. The flowers are borne in tight whorls of 3-10.

Teucrium polium subsp. capitatum – compound flower head, white flowers tightly packed, grey appearance.
Teucrium polium subsp. polium – white flower heads, simple not compound, grey appearance.
Teucrium polium subsp. aureum – flower head golden yellow, compound, golden yellow appearance, a subspecies that grows on high altitudes.

Leaves

Linear narrow blade leaf, like grass. With lobed margins, opposite on the stem, 2.5 cm.

Nut: 4 small nuts at the base of the flower.
