A coastal dweller. The most common Tamarix in the area.

Flowers

The pale pink flowers are borne in a tight spike, 30-60 mm long, 5-8 mm wide.

Leaves

Scales leaves resemble green scales e.g. Cupressus, Juniperus. Without stalks, scale-like, 2-4 mm long.

Capsule: with numerous, soft hairy seeds.
