Description
Not native but naturalised in the area. It flowers at the same time as the grapes are harvested, hence the French name ‘Vendangeuse’.
The leaves appear before the flowers and stay present throughout the flowering period.
Flowers
The bright yellow, large, crocus-like flowers have 6 stamens and 6 tepals.
Leaves
Linear narrow blade leaf, like grass. Long, erect, slightly channelled, 7-15 mm wide.
