Description

A plant covered in soft, sticky hairs, so much so that small insects stick to it.

Flowers

The 5-petalled flowers are pink or pinkish-white with a darker pink base (photos 1&2). The red, white edged flowers are a variety called Silene gallica var. quinquevulnera (photos 3&4).

Leaves

Linear narrow blade leaf, like grass, Lanceolate leaf is lance-shaped: long and widest in the middle. Linear to long, pointed, lower leaves with stalks.

Fruits Seeds

Capsule: with brown seeds.
