Description
An erect plant, the stems are branched from the middle with solitary flowers. The tips of the bracts are white and woolly.
Grows in stony, dry fields.

Leaves
Pinnatisect leaf is deeply lobed, almost to the central midrib. Basal leaves with lobes almost to central midrib; upper leaves are less divided and clasp the stem.
Fruits Seeds
Achene: a cluster of small, dry, 1-seeded fruit attached to 10-20 mm long white hairs (pappus).
