Stems erect, 4 edges, with glandular soft hairs.

Grassy areas, roadsides.

Flowers

Flower stalks are branched, forming a lax spike with whorls of flowers along the stalk. Each whorl carries up to 10 flowers. The petals are irregular, fused, with a long tube and two lips: the upper lip arched, the lower lip three-lobed with a larger central lobe. Sepals covered in white hairs.

Leaves

Elliptic oval leaf, Lanceolate leaf is lance-shaped: long and widest in the middle. Oval to long, pointed, wrinkled, bluntly toothed at the margins, lower leaves larger, 15 cm.

Fruits Seeds

Nut: 4 small nuts enclosed within the calyx.
