Description

The Provence Rose is a hybrid rose developed by Dutch rose breeders between the 17th and 19th century, maybe even earlier.

In the Grasse area and in Correns this rose is cultivated for its essential oil, used in the Grasse perfumery industry.

Flowers

The rose is globular in shape with numerous overlapping petals, highly scented; usually pink, less often white to dark red-purple. Stems with thorns.

Leaves

Pinnate row of leaflets on either side of the stem. 5-7 serrated leaflets on either side of the stem.

Fruits Seeds

Hip: rose hip.
