Description

This Buttercup, as its French name suggests, does not grow in swamps but on seasonally waterlogged ground on acid soil, maquis, open woodland, grassy and stony places.

Flowers

Flowers yellow, sepals not reflexed.

Leaves

Lobed leaf shaped with indents and protrusions, Pinnately lobed leaf with lobes both sides of a central midrib, Linear narrow blade leaf, like grass. Basal outer leaves shallowly 3-lobed, inner leaves with lobes along central midrib, stem leaves linear.

Fruits Seeds

Achene: cylindrical, slightly hairy, composed of many beaked seeds, 2 mm long, hooked at the tip.
