Description

Prunus domestica subsp. syriaca (Mirabelle) is popular in the French region of Lorraine in north-eastern France where eau-de-vie is produced from the plums.

Flowers

5 white, rounded petals with long, white filaments and yellow anthersupper fertile part of the stamen containing the pollen.

Elliptic oval leaf. Oval, serrated.

Drupe: outer fleshy parts surround a shell with a seed inside, yellow, 22 mm.

Fruit: mostly used in making jams and eau-de-vie.
