Description
Potentilla verna is a velvety-hairy evergreen perennial, much branched from the base.
Flowers
The bright yellow flowers have 5 petals and 5 sepals, 13 or more stamens.
Leaves
Digitate leaflets are finger-like. Five leaflets, serrated, widely spaced.

Nut: in a cluster.
Medical
Roots: have a high tannin content used to treat diarrhoea.
