Leaves

Lanceolate leaf is lance-shaped: long and widest in the middle. Long, pointed, narrow, alternate, almost stalkless. Margins with very short hairs.

Fruits Seeds

Achene: a cluster of one-seeded fruit, deep brown, oval, flat, 3mm long.

Edible

Shoots, leaves and tips, with a pungent taste.
