Description

A distinctive, attractive flower, native to the Mediterranean region where it grows in vineyards and olive groves.

Flowers

Stems erect, simple or branched, a little hairy at the base. The flowers, in umbels, with 5-8 rays. The petals are pure white, outer petals 7-8 x larger than the inner ones, giving the plant a lacy appearance.

Leaves

Bipinnate leaflets on either side of the stem, each leaflet is further subdivided. 2 x pinnate with oval, serrated leaflets on either side of the stem, each leaflet is further subdivided.

Fruits Seeds

Schizocarp: oval in shape, consisting of 2 fused carpels, 1 seed each.
