Description

This orchid is a member of the Ophrys bertolonii group.

A tuberous perennial with enlarged underground structures for storage of nutrients.

Flowers

Sepals and petals are pink, the petals with a green central vein; the lip is a reddish-brown, dark, shaggy along the margin and with a short triangular tip. The speculum is centrally positioned and does not connect to the edges of the lip.

Leaves

Elliptic oval leaf, Lanceolate leaf is lance-shaped: long and widest in the middle. Basal leaves are oval to long, wider in the middle, pointed; stem leaves narrow, pointing upwards.
