Description

A hairy, aromatic plant, varying in shape and colour. The sepals protect the flower.

Deciduous woodland.

Flowers

The 2-lipped flowers are arranged in pairs, growing in the axils of the leaves and facing the same direction. They are pale-pink in colour, deeper pink on the lower lip.

Leaves

Cordate heart-shaped. Nettle-like leaves, long, pointed, bluntly serrated, opposite on the stem, hairy, 9 cm.

Fruits Seeds

Nut: 1-4 small nuts that do not split open when ripe, enclosed within the calyx.
