Description

A spreading or ascending plant when it finds a support to cling to. Found In fields, meadows, lawns and roadsides.

Good foraging herb for cattle.

Flowers

The flowers often have reddish veins, giving them a yellow/orange appearance. They are grouped in a perfect circle, 3-6 flowers. The base of the flower (calyx) is 5-lobed.

Leaves

Lanceolate leaf is lance-shaped: long and widest in the middle, Elliptic oval leaf. Five leaves, 3 leaves with stalks and 2 leaves without. The leaflets are long, oval to pointed and smooth.

Fruits Seeds

Pod: long and narrow, brown, opening up to expel the seeds, 20-35 mm.
