Description

Evergreen, the most common Lonicera in the area, requiring other plants for support.

Garrigue, maquis, scrub, open woodland, hedgerows, banks and roadsides.

Flowers

The flowerhead, in contrast to Lonicera etrusca, is not stalked; in dense spikes of between 2-9 tubular, white to pale pink flowers.

Leaves

Elliptic oval leaf, Perfoliate leaf stem on the flat underside of the leaf, and appears to pass through the leafto pass through the leaf. Oval, the leaves directly beneath the flowerhead are fused together, with the stem in the centre.

Fruits Seeds

Berry: orange.
