Description
A hairless perennial. It is related to the cultivated flax plant.

The large flowers are azure-blue, with deeper blue veins.

Lanceolate leaf is lance-shaped: long and widest in the middle, Linear narrow blade leaf, like grass. Long, pointed to linear, grey-green.

Capsule: with 3 seeds.
Medical
Seeds: the seeds of cultivated flax plants contain high levels of dietary fibres, anti-oxidant properties and Omega 3 fatty acids.
Linseed oil is used internally as a mild laxative.
