Description

Related to the cultivated flax plant not found in the wild. Oil made from the seeds of cultivated flax is used in the paint industry and as a carrier oil for colour pigment.

Linum campanulatum forms a cushion, branching from the woody base each year.

Dry habitats, rocky ground, garrigue, open woodland.

The flowers have shiny, light yellow petals with orange veins from the base.

Leaves

Lanceolate leaf is lance-shaped: long and widest in the middle, Linear narrow blade leaf, like grass. Basal: long, wider in the middle, pointed, smooth.
Upper: almost linear.
