Habitat: meadows, forests and roadsides.

Flowers

The flowers are a dull pink and grow in the leaf axils at the top of the plant. The flower has a hood with a lip split in 2 rounded parts, speckled near the throat.

Leaves

Cordate heart-shaped, Whorled cluster of leaves encircle the stem. Stem leaves: hairy, stalked, heart-shaped, margins undulated or serrated.
Top leaves: a tight cluster circling the stem, heart-shaped, with tiny stalks.

Fruits Seeds

Nut: enclosed within the calyx.

Edible

Hairy, best used in soups or stir-fries.
