Description

Sharp Rush grows in a tuft, the flowering stems and the stem-like leaves arise from the base at different angles, making it appear rounded.

Seashore and salt marshes. Useful in reducing shore erosion.

Flowers

The flowering stems have clusters of first green, then brown flowers. The flower bracts exceed the flowers, ending in a sharp point.

Linear narrow blade leaf, like grass. Stem-like.
