Description

Plant has a rather neat, attractive, woolly white appearance.

It grows on higher altitudes on dry, rocky, calcareous soils.

Flowers

The flower is large, solitary, at the end of the stalk, made up of irregular ray florets and tubular disk florets.

Leaves

Lanceolate leaf is lance-shaped: long and widest in the middle, Linear narrow blade leaf, like grass. Basal: long, wider in the middle, pointed with stalks.
Upper leaves: narrower, without stalks, with entire or serrated margins.

Fruits Seeds

Achene: a cluster of 1-seeded fruit with bristly hairs.
