Description
A Mediterranean plant of acid soils, copes very well with drought. The branches are covered in short, white soft hairs. The plant emits a curry smell.
Flowers
The flowers are clustered together to form a bouquet of bright yellow flowers, each flower is surrounded by a membranous, translucent bract.
Leaves
Linear narrow blade leaf, like grass. Long, white, soft and hairy, with rolled under (revolute) margins, 20-30 mm long.
Fruits Seeds
Achene: a cluster of small, 1-seeded fruit.
Medical
An essential oil is produced from the aerial parts and was once used as an expectorant for colds.
