Description
Cultivated, fallow and waste ground.
Flowers are used to make a yellow dye for wool.
In Provence, it is said that Fumaria holds the secret to a long life.
Flowers
The flowers are pinkish-purple with a reddish-black tip, two-lipped with a spur.
Leaves
Trifoliate with three leaflets. Three leaves with deeply lobed, blunt leaflets, pale greyish-green.
Fruits Seeds
Capsule: kidney-shaped, one seed.
Medical
Flowering part: tonic herb, improves liver and gall bladder function. Internally and externally used for skin complaints, externally for conjunctivitis.
