Description

A plant that grows close to rivers or irrigation channels and in ditches. Robust stems, branched and very hairy. Bracts are leaf-like.

Flowers

The flowers are 4-petalled, purplish-pink and notched. The stigma is creamy white with 4 lobes, quite noticeable.

Leaves

Lanceolate leaf is lance-shaped: long and widest in the middle. Long, wider in the middle, pointed, opposite, sometimes in whorls along the stem, sharply serrated.

Capsule: 5-8 cm long.
