Description

In the first year a rosette of hairy leaves appear. In the second year Echium italicum forms its pyramidal shape, branches almost horizontal, wide at the bottom, narrowing towards the top. The plant is covered in small flowers.

Flowers

The flowers, pale yellow, pink or blue, are tubular in shape with protruding stamens. The sepals are deeply indented.

Leaves

Lanceolate leaf is lance-shaped: long and widest in the middle. Rosette of long, wider in the middle, pointed, serrated leaves, covered in spiny, bristly, white hairs, 35 cm long and 1.5 to 4 cm wide.

Nut: 3, small and wrinkly.
