Description

The whole plant is covered in 3 mm long hairs, hence the name ‘hirsutus’ meaning hairy. It has erect or spreading branches hugging the ground.

Calcareous and arid habitats.

Flowers

The flowers are yellow-orange, the upright petal, the ‘standard’, is often splashed with brown.

Leaves

Trifoliate with three leaflets. Three leaflets, oval-elliptic, with stalks, very hairy, 18-25 mm.

Fruits Seeds

Pod: linear, 2.5-4 cm.
