Description

This flower could be mistaken for a Scabious but lacks the lacy-like outer petals. A much branched, erect perennial. Bracts numerous, oval-shaped and hairy.

A plant for dry, sunny, rocky areas.

Flowers

Clusters of globular, creamy-white or pale yellow pincushion flowers.

Leaves

Pinnatisect leaf is deeply lobed, almost to the central midrib. Basal leaves: deeply lobed almost to central midrib, with a large terminal lobe at the tip of the leaf.
Upper leaves: less segmented, opposite.

Fruits Seeds

Achene: a small, 1-seeded fruit with papery base (calyx).
