Description

Native to dry, nutrient-poor open grass plains.

Flowers

Harebells have bell-shaped, nodding, purple flowers with five pointed lobes.

Leaves

Ovate leaf is egg-shaped, wider at base, Lanceolate leaf is lance-shaped: long and widest in the middle, Linear narrow blade leaf, like grass. Basal leaves: egg-shaped, long, pointed, serrated with long stalks. Upper leaves: linear, slightly serrated.

Fruits Seeds

Capsule: seeds released by small basal slits or pores, 3-4 mm long.
