Description

This fern grows in tufts, in cracks in the rocks or in old walls. The leaflets are leathery. The rust-brown areas beneath the leaves contain the spores, the productive organs.

Leaves

Pinnate row of leaflets on either side of the stem. Frond: with 30 pairs of leaflets on either side of the stem, oblong to round, 20 cm long. Stems blackish-brown.

Fruits Seeds

Sori: a cluster of spore-producing structures, visible on the underside of the leaf.
